Understanding the Fall Harvest

This post is to help clarify a debate on the determination of who the firstfruits of God and the Lamb are. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Firstfruits is a biblical festival and principle where the first and best portion of the harvest is offered to God as a thanksgiving sacrifice, signaling trust that God will provide the rest of the harvest.

Leviticus 23 “Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall REAP the HARVEST thereof, then ye shall bring a SHEAF of the FIRSTFRUITS of your HARVEST unto the priest:”

This offering was required before any of the new harvest could be consumed. It represents the best, not leftovers, showcasing gratitude for God’s provision. 

Christ is referred to as the "firstfruits of those who have died" (1 Cor 15:20), indicating His resurrection is the promise of future resurrection for believers.

1 Cor 15:23 “But EVERY man in his OWN ORDER: CHRIST the firstfruits; AFTERWARD they that are CHRIST'S at HIS COMING.”

ORDER AT HIS COMING:

First Harvest: Bride (144,000)
Revelation 14:4 “These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the FIRSTFRUITS UNTO GOD and to the LAMB.”

Second Harvest: Saints
Revelation 14:14-16 “And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the EARTH was REAPED.”

Discarded Third Harvest: Wicked (Those against God)
Revelation 14:19-20 “And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and GATHERED the VINE of the EARTH, and CAST it into the great WINEPRESS of the WRATH of GOD. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.”
